Methods of Ministry

This webpage will explain in more detail the methods of ministry used in the five lists of The Spirit's Love Leaders Corps, Peter's Pence: Ecumenical Frontliners, Coredemptrix Mediatrix Advocate, World Youth Spirit, and Do You Desire to be Catholic?

Methods of Ministry in Holy Spirit Ministries Lists

1. Posting prayer requests gathered from peoples all over the world:
Posting a prayer request from people to the list and eliciting responses from the members of the list is a ministry especially to the sick, the suffering, and those in many forms of trials, problems and difficulties. Usually the responses made by the members of the list are forwarded to the person who requested the prayer. As regards the progress of the prayer's effectiveness, updates are made continually on the condition of the sick or suffering person.

2. Posting of inspirational material like poems, stories, and heartwarming and encouraging content. These are posted to the lists in general so that the members may derive strength and encouragement for life's daily needs in their families, workplaces, and communities. Many members of the lists use this method in their ministry.

3. Posting a series of teaching material. These are done to help the readers of the list gain more information and derive substantial contents from their membership in the lists. The series depends on the topic chosen by the one who does the posting. It may last an average of 6-7 postings.

4. Posting a spiritual series of prayers or a spiritual program that spans many days. This is the forte of Holy Spirit Ministries. This method of ministry is a formative method because it helps form the spiritual growth of the readers of the list. It requires some form of spiritual discipline to undertake this ministry since the one making it must himself undergo the series of prayers or the spiritual program.

5. Posting of informative material such as news and other helpful information for daily living. This is very important to all who wish to be updated of current events or of anything that would help them in their daily living. Those who want to undertake this ministry have a whole lot of sources to get their content and material. Usually there are websites that provide this information free so that the subscriber may post it as a ministry he undertakes for the lists he is a member of.

6. Posting regularly Catholic material in accord with the Church's liturgical calendar. This is a post regularly done by those who minister in a liturgical way to the lists. Usually, the contents of the post are the readings of the Mass for the day, including brief biographies of the Saint for that day.

7. Posting of links and URLs that elicit support for certain civic and patriotic causes. This is a ministry undertaken by those concerned about the civil affairs of his country. They are not related to the Catholic faith directly but they deal with matters of life which the Catholic faith takes its stand as pro-life.

8. Posting a variety of Catholic material. This could be novenas, prayers, some tidbits of history, certain updates on current issues within the Church, Vatican news, and many more others that deal with the Church's traditions.

These methods of ministry listed above are not supposed to be the norm and the rule. If you have a ministry that you do in other lists which are not in our list given above, you may wish to share your ministry with us in Holy Spirit Ministries. We would be happy to have you and your ministry support the growth of the Catholic church through your gift of yourself and ministry. And those who are new to lists need not feel that they have to be really good at this ministry at the start. All of us who started doing ministry in Holy Spirit Ministries also started new at first and then progressed as we gained more knowledge and confidence in doing the particularly ministry we have chosen. Eventually those who are interested to choose a particular method may try that method and progress steadily in that method until he or she may derive some expertise in his method. The best way of learning is to see how the others perform their ministry and then pattern your style after them.

It is my hope that you join Holy Spirit Ministries and help the many members of the list profess faith in God alone, bestow love and charity through many encouraging posts, and impart hope to those who are suffering, sick and in many kinds of difficult and problematic situations.
